Chapter 147: Guard

“That was…unexpected,” the blue-eyed woman said, after the driver hastily bade her an apology and took off. “What did you say to him?”

Sesshoumaru shrugged. “Nothing of importance. I merely informed him that the authorities would be happy to get involved should he cause a bigger scene.”

“And you’re sure that’s all you said?” Kagome inquired lightly. I didn’t know Sesshoumaru could have such a fierce look in his eyes…

“A friend protects those closest to him.”

She laughed. “For someone who’s just discovered the joy of friendship, you seem to be filling the role quite well.”
