Chapter 142: Genuine Confession

“It’s…really hard not to like you,” Kagome admitted, furrowing her brow. She looked away from her companion’s probing gaze. “I’m not sure how to feel about that.”

Sesshoumaru moved into her line of vision, paying no attention to the people walking past them. He belatedly noticed that they’d been standing in the same spot for the last ten minutes, which, coincidentally, happened to be the other side of the street. He leaned closer to her when a teenager rudely brushed shoulders with him. The latter scurried away when Sesshoumaru sent him a piercing glare.

“Then like me, Kagome.”
