Chapter 127: False Truth

Kagome pursed her lips and smiled bitterly. Totosai’s observation was only the same as the many others that had been made before. If one was familiar with the legend of the Shikon, one would automatically compare Kagome’s appearance to that of her ancestor’s.

Kikyou…

The one whom the tales painted as a tragic martyr–the priestess who had sacrificed her life for the good of the many. She was the beautiful and compassionate guardian of the Jewel of Four Souls.

But Kagome knew her as the woman who had failed in her duty, for the true Kikyou held no such honor.
