Chapter 126: Family Tree

If Sesshoumaru was surprised about Kagome’s enmity toward the necklace, he didn’t comment on it. He decided to watch her interaction with the old man, waiting for the reason behind her blunt refusal.

“It suits you,” Totosai said finally.

Kagome scoffed. “I’d rather it didn’t. The Shikon Jewel is a curse. And I should know since my family operates the shrine that housed it five hundred years ago.”

“You’re a Higurashi?” Kagome hated the wonder in his voice. “I wouldn’t have thought you’d be a descendant of that reclusive woman. But the resemblance between you two is uncanny.”
