Chapter 115: Flowers

“The sakura are beautiful this year.”

As he traversed the paved road, Sesshoumaru’s eyes sought out the boughs of pink blossoms overhead. He ignored the inane chatter of the people nearby before he glanced down at his companion once more. While the veil of flowers blocked out the sky, Kagome’s fair complexion was alight with a rosy glow.

His gaze lingered on her cheerful smile and pearly-white teeth. The gentle breeze played with the curls of her hair. “Beautiful,” he confirmed, reveling in the woman’s tinkling laugh.

It was a sound he had honestly come to appreciate from her.
