Sesshomaru took a seat next to Kagome but did not speak. He did not know how to say what he needed to.

Kagome sighed but did not look at him, “Sesshomaru what happened to you? Why did you walk away from me? What has made you so cold?”

Sesshomaru growled but answered in a roundabout way, “There is nothing wrong with this Sesshomaru and this one does not need to explain himself to anyone.”

Kagome huffed and began to stand, “Then if you do not want to explain anything to me then I suppose this conversation is over. If you will excuse me Sesshomaru-sama I am going back to the palace.”

With that she turned to walk away but she did not make it far before Sesshomaru had wrapped his arms around her waist to stop her. She could feel his breath on her ear.

He whispered into her ear, “This Sesshomaru does not know how to explain what the problem is.”

Kagome sighed she knew it was a hit to his pride to admit that but she had to know. She turned in his arms to face him.

Kagome placed a hand on each of his cheeks, “Try to explain Sesshomaru maybe I can help.”

He sat back down and pulled her into his lap, “Father does not know, actually no one knows, a few years ago a witch placed a spell on this one.”

Kagome’s eyes widened in shock and she gasped, “Is that why you are so cold now?”

He nodded his head but he still showed no emotion. Kagome could see it in his eyes though he was in pain and did not know what to do.

Kagome’s eyes lit with determination even if he did not want to be with her she would still help him. “What was the spell Sesshomaru? What did she say when she cast it?”

He considered her words and thought for a moment. Then he began to speak and she listened closely.

“The lock has been placed your heart and emotions sealed. When she comes she must see past your coldness if not there is no hope and you will never be free. Your heart will know when she comes but you better pray that she is true because if she is not your life and hers will be lost.”

Kagome gasped and stared at him with wide eyes, “You have been cursed as well but you are my destined so I must be able to break your curse.”

Sesshomaru sighed, “I may be your destined Kagome but are you sure that you are mine?”
