The week flew by and when they returned to the palace a ball was almost done being prepared for the next night. They all made their way to Touga’s study to inform him that they had returned. Sesshomaru knocked on the door and after they heard a quick enter they all went in.

Touga looked up from the other Lords to his sons and new daughters. “Ah I am glad that you all have returned. I hope you had a pleasant stay in the cottages?”

Sesshomaru and Inuyasha grinned as the girls just blushed brightly.

Touga chuckled, “Well Sesshomaru it seems that word slipped that I was stepping down and naming you Lord of the West after your mating ceremony was over. It was like someone put up a billboard announcing it to the world because three days after you left the council started to hound me as to why I did not tell them.”

Sesshomaru grunted, “You know that nothing really remains a secret when you are in the royal family.”

Touga chuckled once more, “You are right on that account my son. Anyway go rest up all of you the ball to announce your new status as Lord of the West will take place tomorrow.”

With a nod from all of them he continued speaking with the other lords as they left. The evening went by uneventful as Kagome and Kikyo caught up with their friends and spent time with the children. After tomorrow night’s announcement Sesshomaru and Kagome would be leading a country as well as become the new alphas to the pack.

When they went to bed Kagome relaxed in Sesshomaru’s arms, “I love you Sesshomaru.”

Sesshomaru smirked placing a gentle kiss to the crescent moon on her forehead, “I love you as well my sweet little mate Kagome.”

They both fell asleep with smiles on their faces.
