Holler Me Home by The Norrington

Just Incase

Sesshomaru watched her struggle for nearly half an hour before he took pity on her.  The miko had run out of arrows during their last battle, and since funds were low and the nearest village was too far away, she had been forced to make her own.  He had been impressed against his will at how well she had been able to make the shafts narrow and straight, and how easily she had shaped out arrow heads with another rock.  She had a collection of feathers for fletching, but she would do that last.

The thing that was holding her up was she had absolutely no clue how to go about sharpening the arrowheads.  She scraped with her rock stubbornly for a while, but all the resulted in was wearing down both the rock and the arrowhead.  She pouted in a way he refused to call cute, and he huffed silently to himself.

She looked up in delighted suprise when Sesshomaru loomed over her, holding out a smooth whet stone to her.  She took it gingerly, a confused look on her face.  Mumbling inwardly, he moved quickly, seating himself behind her kneeling form.  Leaning over her with his armorless chest against her back, he took her hands in his own, showing her how to hold to stone and the arrowhead both.  With sure, long sweeps of the whet stone, together they sharpened it into a deadly, if not the prettiest, point.

Thrilled, she conintued to sharpen points even after he pulled his hands away, but he stayed pressed against her warmth, protectively watching her hands to make sure she didn't hurt herself.  He would wait til she was done to move.

You know, just incase.
