Holler Me Home by The Norrington

So Be It

The beast moved remarkably unseen through the daylight.  It followed her through the halls of the palaces and through doors.  When she looked about, it vanished from sight.  When she searched with her powers, it was hidden from that sight as well.  Yet she could not shake the feeling of being followed.  But the guards did nothing.  In fact, they seemed to be amused.

In the library, through the grand dining hall, and even across the narrow space between her children's rooms.  Kagome frowned, fidgetting distractedly with the wide sleeves of her decorative kimono.  She shrugged inwardly; if there was a threat, Sesshomaru would have already removed it.  Now that she thought about it, she hadn't seen Sesshomaru all day--

Her lips twitched in a knowing smile, but she quickly hid it.  If he wanted to play a game, so be it.

He stalked her on shadow silent feet into the private garth that was entirely their own; only one other had even been allowed in.  And she had been gone for many a year now, starting a family of her own.  He landed soft as wind in the center of the garden, expecting surprise and happiness on his mate's face.  But he did not see that.  In fact, he didn't see her at all.

Ears flicked, his nose twitched, and his eyes narrowed.  Approaching, he toed a pool of silk curiously.  It was his mate's kimono.  His nostrils flared.  There was no scent of danger, or fear.  But there was excitement, and a heady aroma that set his teeth nicely on edge.  His face strippes went slightly jagged, but not in anger.  His smirked.

It was only the kimono laid upon the ground.  That meant his lovely, playful mate was running about in the sunshine with nothing but an obi on.

If she wanted to play a game, so be it.
