Valentine’s Day Countdown Challenge

Prompt: Apple

“Where are they…where are they?”

Kagome sighed for what seemed to be the fifth time. The wizard has been repeating the same question for the past hour, scurrying around and shifting through the clutter looking for whatever object he needed. “What are you looking for?” He paused in his actions, a deep concentration marring his face as his pointer finger tapped against his chin.   

“I’m looking for…apples.”

She furrowed her brows at his strange answer. “For the ritual, right?”

“Why yes, but they are a specific type of apples and I surely have some around this mess.”

Is he blind? Kagome asked to herself. She noticed earlier a group of said fruits on the low table near the open fire-pit. She supposed they were apples since they have similar shape as one, but the skin was rather spiked and pointed, and had perplexing shade of bluish-green. It must be a demonic type of apple, since she never seen one as such. “Are those it?” She pointed to the objects.

He blinked a bit before turning to where she was pointing, “Oh, there they are!” He practically pranced to them, and it was weird to witness a grown man do anything but run or walk to something, not prance as if he was a ballerina. “I don’t know what I would have done without you.” He gave flirtatious wink towards her, but his charm wore off since the beginning the longer she spent time in his eccentric presence. His next words had her gapping like a fish.

“When this is done, we should have a wedding.”
