Valentine’s Day Countdown Challenge

Prompt: Ivy

Word Count: 220

-Happy Campers-

She swore she never saw Sesshomaru get this angry, this furious enough to attack the wizard unrelentingly, but the image of the small demon against—whom she presume to be over six feet—a wizard with a large advantage over him caused a few giggles to erupt from her mouth. Foolish it was to laugh at the demon lord, maybe it was her frayed nerves at the severity of the situation, for he graced her with a look that had her scurrying back into a bush. But it wasn’t just any type of bush. She detangled herself from the large, floppy leaves and stubborn stems afterwards, however an intense, painful sensation emerged from her exposed skin seconds later.

Itch, itch, and itch she did, but of course scratching made it worse than before. Confused, she peered closely at the lonesome shrub, noting the ragged edges of the leaves before realization left her whimpering.

Poison Ivy. Who would have guessed a harmless looking, but dangerous plant was growing near the hot spring? She certainly didn’t and now she was paying for it. She groaned pitifully, rubbing her face with the sleeves of her yukata while the thunderous bangs and jubilant laughter became what topped this awful afternoon.

Two unhappy campers and a mischievous wizard, could this tragic day get any worse?
