The Grouch

A/N: Sorry for the late update! I've been extremely busy the past couple days and the cold makes a person feel lazy! So I apologize! But anyways, enjoy this chapter!

Prompt: Wrath

-The Grouch-

At long last they arrived, and Kagome was fairly relieved when Sesshomaru finally released her wrist, but she wasn’t expecting the action afterwards. With a sharp jerk of her arm forward, she landed in the water, scraping her knee against the shallow stream bed, which was armored with rounded rocks and pebbles. Rising from the depths, she stuttered out her womanly insults, but one glance towards the demon lord had her face heated with embarrassment and—dare she think it—arousal. With no type of shame, Sesshomaru stripped his garments and was bathing several feet away, unhindered by the presence of a tiny mortal human, while he ran his single hand through the matted mess of his locks.

She covered her face; the cool touches shimmered down the heat that accumulated on her face and neck. “Do you mind bathing somewhere else?”

“No.”

“This is entirely inappropriate!”

“Only humans are modest, and this Sesshomaru is not human.” He scoffed, continuing his ministrations, though with difficulty due to having one available limb to cleanse his body.

“Then I will move.” With that, she wandered behind some small cluster of plant life, close enough to the gradual slope of stream.

“Do as you please.”      

She huffed, flustered at witnessing the smooth, pale back of the icy lord, chiseled with fine muscles, and prayed that this awkward moment didn’t hinder the ability to even glance at him. It would make the journey even more unbearable than what it was currently, but knowing the demon lord so far, silence seemed a welcome relief from the constant ramblings from her part. Which meant, he probably wouldn’t care about the situation and would relish the tensional reticence.

Jerk. With that little thought, Kagome vigorously cleaned herself, muttering some comments about audacious dogs and their ill-tempered tendencies while tending to the scrapes on her knees and lower thigh from the treatment earlier.
