Prompt: Glow

Evening approached while the mismatched entourage circled around the campfire. Rin talked animatedly with the little figure while passing tidbits of cooked mushrooms and fish towards the tiny palms.

If he was any other being, he would have sighed at the situation. It’s been a couple hours and all he could gather from the human were squawks and high-pitched prattling. However, he did catch the name of that vile half-demon Naraku. But it was unlikely a pitiful vermin his stature would be able to come up with something this intricate involving magic, unless he had an outside source, which seemed more plausible with each second that passes. He didn’t blame him much; he also would have subdued his adversary with underhanded tactics if only to ensure his own victory.

Watching the commotion between the two was nauseating. It was irksome to find his ward treating the human as a pet; numerous times she called the wench a fairy, though she did have a quality that borderline ethereal with the gossamer shimmer of a pale hue, covering her body with a glow. He glowered to the side, hoping the tree combust into a hail of flames while cursing at the fates for placing him in this predicament.
