Prompt: Popsicle

-New and Old-

After the conversation between the two, the Lady Mother refused to linger on the subject any longer but was interested in the circumstances that transpired the meeting between her son and the little human. Kagome swore the woman was purposely trying to extract personal information on the type of relationship between the ice lord and her. Her snarky reason was because Sesshomaru’s her precious child and she simply looking out for his well-being and reputation.

Like I would do anything with that popsicle-prick. Kagome harrumphed to herself, clutching the new garments the generous hostess bestowed on her.

It was now late evening and she haven’t caught a glimpse of any of her temporary traveling companions. She wondered on their whereabouts as she walked through the dimmed corridors, approaching a single, bright illumination several doors down. Several minutes passed, Kagome stood bent over, catching her breath from the long-distanced walk.

It was a library, the numerous books piling high towards the ceiling while many candlestick holders grasped the walls. Looking around, Kagome caught the sight of Sesshomaru, shifting through the pages with a dulled expression.

“Have you found anything?” Kagome asked, her high-pitched voice coming out in a near murmur.

His response was typical, a furrow between his brows before ignoring her presence entirely.
