Bon Odori

Disclaimer: Though it saddens me to say it, I don’t own anything relating to Takahashi-sensei’s Inuyasha. However, the plot and/or ideas of this drabble series do belong to me.

A/N: For those of you that’d like a time stamp in the story, it’s the middle of July right now. S/K are still at the festival btw. :) Update 2 of 3.

Chapter 92: Bon Odori

Crimson sleeves fluttered delicately in gentle arcs and in rhythm with the chorus of voices and the pounding of the drums. She moved with the music, body swaying and arms graceful. Her steps were sure, confident, and unhurried. Her eyes were closed, and a serene smile was on her face as she went through the motions smoothly, knowing them all by heart.

On a platform nearby, the official Bon dancers performed in a circle beneath a train of glowing lanterns. Many of the festival goers had joined in the dance, some watching the dancers, while others had their eyes glued onto the woman glowing in the waning sunlight. Sesshoumaru was at her side, looking just as ethereal as his wife as he moved in sync with her, though his gaze was upon her form as well. The swarm of people around them had given them a wide berth, more interested in watching the two of them together than the others in the raised arena.

But who could blame them? It wasn’t every day that one had the opportunity to witness Sesshoumaru Taishou and his mysterious wife in a public setting–and dancing no less!

This year’s Obon Festival was certainly special.
