Chapter 70: Treat

“What are you doing?”

Kagome paused in her movements, and replied, “Erm… Making chocolate?” She rubbed her face, smearing some onto her cheek. Sesshoumaru’s gaze narrowed on the mark.

“For?”

She rolled her eyes. “It’s not for you, if that’s what you’re wondering.”

“Then who?” her husband asked, leaning against the kitchen counter, arms crossed.

“My friends.” Kagome huffed when he only tilted his head in confusion. “I do have friends, you know!”

“Hn…”

“Don’t you remember Yuka, Eri, and Ayumi? They were my bridesmaids at our wedding.”

Sesshoumaru frowned, trying to picture the three women in his mind. They all had… dark hair, right? Other than that, he found that he couldn’t remember what their faces looked like. He must have grouped them together in the list of females he honestly didn’t care about.

But he wouldn’t tell Kagome that.

“Why are you making chocolate for them?” he asked, abruptly changing the subject. “It is not Valentine’s Day.”

Kagome pursed her lips, but answered nonetheless. “I wanted to,” she said. “Is that a problem?”

She froze when he licked her cheek, grumbling softly afterward.

“Not anymore.”
