Chapter 53: Amorous

Sesshoumaru couldn’t hold back his delighted sigh.

Eyes closed, he dragged in a deep breath of air, the corners of his lips curling upwards into a dazed smile. A sweet smell wafted around him, its delicious scent beckoning him to move with an almost sinful caress.

Heeding its call, he followed it, completely enraptured.

The noises of clanking metal soon jarred him from his hazy state, and he quickly found himself in the kitchen. His petite wife stood with her back facing him, carefully taking a tray out of the oven. As his eyes locked on to her form, his mouth nearly watered when he caught sight of her baked goods.

Almond cookies: His only other weakness… besides Kagome.

Groaning inaudibly, Sesshoumaru stalked toward her, taking her by surprise when his arms draped around her waist. He nuzzled her hair and placed a kiss on the side of her neck, pleased when she tilted her head to allow him more access to her skin.

“Kagome,” he murmured hotly into her ear. “Why must you do this to me?”

As she put down the cookies onto the counter, she laughed, the light sound warming his heart. She turned in his hold and pecked the underside of his chin.

“Because I love you! And,” her voice lowered silkily, “I love to drive you crazy.”

Sesshoumaru pressed closer to her. “You are…”

“Perfect? Sexy? Amazing?” she offered teasingly.

“All of the above,” he answered, capturing her lips.
