Chapter 41: Shopping

They had ventured out for engagement rings the following day.

Kagome, to Sesshoumaru’s surprise, had flitted about the jewelry store, gushing over the various necklaces and bracelets that were on display. It had taken a gentle coaxing on his part to steer her away from them and lead her toward the collection of rings on the other side of the room.

The sales associate behind the counter had given him a knowing glance before pulling out the rings that had caught Kagome’s wandering eye. Unimpressed with the more expensive ones, the woman had immediately pushed them to the side.

And after a lot of deliberation and pouting, she had settled on a silver band with three diamonds in the center.

It was simple but elegant.
