Disclaimer: Though it saddens me to say it, I don’t own anything relating to Takahashi-sensei’s Inuyasha. However, the plot and/or ideas of this drabble series do belong to me.

A/N: So I see lots of questions buzzing around… That’s good! I can promise you that answers will be forthcoming soon. Or, we’ll get there eventually…as I’m still working out the kinks of this little tale of mine lol. Anyway, thanks for reading! :) Update 1 of 2.

Chapter 21: Burden

Inuyasha sighed as he escaped the melancholy atmosphere of Kagome’s hospital room and stepped out into the hallway. He ran a hand down his face, feeling much older than he was.

One afternoon was all it took for his half-brother to go from a stubborn, proud man to a shadow of what he once was–a mere flicker of something that was not entirely there.

And while he would never admit it to Sesshoumaru’s face, it unnerved him.

His recent behavior was worrisome, and Inuyasha wondered what would happen if Kagome didn’t–

Quickly ending that train of thought, he sucked in a breath and exhaled slowly, calming his frayed nerves.

He wouldn’t even go down that road.

Inuyasha owed it to his future sister-in-law to be positive. She would pull through and everything would be fine.
