“Perhaps it would have been better if her soul was tethered to mine. Her injuries could have been prevented.”

Touga shook his head. “If that was the answer, Izayoi would still be here. Mate or not, the bond is not a panacea for life-threatening conditions. It isn’t capable of quick fixes or miracles, Sesshoumaru. It just prolongs the inevitable.”

“While that information is appreciated, your long-winded argument is irrelevant, Father. Kagome’s state is not as severe, so the situations of our females are incomparable. Cancer is the more difficult foe, but bruised ribs will eventually heal in time.”
