Disclaimer: Though it saddens me to say it, I don’t own anything relating to Takahashi-sensei’s Inuyasha. However, the plot and/or ideas of this drabble series do belong to me.

A/N: Ah, there’s confusion afloat! I blame my subtlety. Hopefully, this’ll clear things up! If not, well, just keep reading! ;) Update 2 of 2.

Chapter 103: Repair

After ripping one of the black sleeves of his yukata into a long strip, Sesshoumaru wrapped the makeshift bandage around Kagome’s head. He didn’t know if she had any more injuries, but he would do what he could before getting help. The cut would become problematic if it wasn’t treated right away. So, applying pressure to her wound and stemming the blood flow, he tied a firm knot and gently placed her down on the ground beside him.

Then, he got to work on fixing another problem: His legs.

Sesshoumaru glanced around the area at the litter of debris and wreckage that was scattered in various scraps of metal. From what he could tell, there wasn’t anything he could salvage from the parts of their ruined car. Most of it was still glowing brilliantly in bright, orange flames. Eyebrows furrowing, he decided that it didn’t make a difference anyway. He knew there was no way he could get up to find the materials needed to make proper splints for his abused limbs.

Though his legs throbbed every time he moved, the pain had subsided to a dull ache and was somewhat bearable as long as he kept them elevated. He gritted his teeth as he placed his hands on his left thigh, wincing when he felt the tender flesh. Taking a deep breath, he set the bones in a quick motion, aligning them with a swift push. He was neither a doctor nor a trained professional, but he didn’t have any other options. A low grunt was the only evidence of his discomfort.

Panting softly, the man wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, ignoring the blood that came with it. Already, he could feel the fractures mending together–a result of his own natural healing abilities. It would hopefully be back to normal in no time. He couldn’t say the same about his other leg, however.

Sesshoumaru grimaced when he took in the sight of his right shin, swollen and bent oddly out of shape. He wasn’t even aware that it could go in that direction. If Kagome was awake she’d–

He stopped himself.

He wasn’t going to think about it. At least, not until she received medical care. He cursed whoever had gotten them into this mess. Targeting him and his wife was a mistake.

What a pity. I was hoping to blow your legs off.”
