Chapter 102: Prayer

“Wake up, Kagome. We have to go home,” Sesshoumaru desperately crooned into her ear, rocking her body back and forth. He nuzzled her cheek and pressed a kiss to the underside of her jaw, burying his nose into her neck afterward. The sound of her heartbeat stuttered for a few moments before it resumed, growing fainter as the seconds passed by.

A shallow cut was on her forehead, nearly identical to his own. But unlike his wound, hers hadn’t stopped bleeding. Her unconscious state only added to his growing list of concerns.

He had to get her someplace safe.
