Hierarchy Challenge

"Sango." Miroku called. but he was ignored. 

Sango had managed to drag Kagome up the stairs without waking anyone up in the process. The guys didn't really complain as they just watched the girs whisper about something and then look back---like they were being talked about. The guys just looked at each other wondering what to do about themselves now that the 'show' was over. Go back to sleep? or just sit around. 

-Kagome's room- 

Kagome knew Sango wanted to talk to her but....this was kind of private. Kagome didn't really want to share unless Sango wanted sex and foreplay pointers from her. How embarrassing! Good Rin-chan was sleeping....she didn't think she needed the extra info. She'd suggest that Sesshomaru let Shippo court Rin when they got to the past....he was over-protective but hell even Rin needed a mate! 

They sat on the bed and Sango asked what Kagome was going to do once she got to the past and what could 'possibly' happen. Oh...so Sango didn't want to talk about 'that'. Whew…..

Kagome sighed shaking her head saying that she’d probably have to talk to the guys….wondering whether she’d have to step in front of ‘the line of fire’ so the brothers didn’t fight it out. Sango laughed and said “as if Sesshomaru would ever let that happen”.

Sango shook her head knowing she’d have to explain. “There’s usually a ‘pack’ system in groups. There’s the Alpha, who is the highest of the group. Beta is the second etc. So even though Inuyasha is not on good terms with Sesshomaru they are still family/blood. Had something happened to Sesshomaru, Inuyasha would take over.”

“Inuyasha thinks that he’s alpha and mating you makes him the Alpha male of his own group. That Sango, Miroku and Shippo are his pack. The Alpha Male usually has a mate---the alpha female and in charge on the pack’s welfare etc and she’s off limits to all males.

“If Inuyasha lays a hand on her, you, or degrades you in any manner Sesshomaru will kill him for sure.” Sango said.

Kagome shivered inwardly, she wanted Inuyasha to understand….she didn’t want him dead!

“Well it’s time to rid of this hierarchy system isn’t it? Everyone in this pack should be treated equally.” Kagome said with a determined nod.

“Not going to happen. Never ever.” Sango said sighing as she got out of bed and went back to hers hoping to catch a few more hours of sleep. Maybe tomorrow she’d drill more of this into Kagome’s brain. Tell her about Dominance and submission too. Kagome wouldn't like that at all. Knowing Kagome and her ways of the modern woman mind. 

Sango hoped that Kagome didn't back out of mating Sesshomaru because of this.....
