Dangerous Dance by Lady Nefertiti

Prompt 37: Paroemia

Dangerous Dance

Lady Nefertiti

Oddities Challenge

Prompt: Paroemia (a proverb or an adage)

Everyone was silent in the room as they heard Sango and Rin agree that it would be better to stay the night. Odd. Everyone could’ve walked home even if it was raining suddenly…BOOM! and lightning strike from outside. Or maybe not.

Shippo ran a hand through his hair and said, “So how are we going to do this? Kagome-chan?” he asked. She was the lady of the house after all.

“So Uh hmm…all girls in my room….” Kagome started. Then there was Sesshomaru, Miroku, Shippo and Inuyasha. She would have to separate the brothers. “…Sesshomaru and Miroku in Souta’s room. Inuyasha and Shippo in Mom’s room.” Kagome said. That sounded okay.

“Forewarned is Forearmed.” Miroku said knowledgeably.

‘………….’

“What the fuck does that mean?!” Inuyasha yelled. What gibberish was this ‘holy monk’ as he called himself (maybe in his dreams) “….holy my ass.” Inuyasha muttered. Whatever nonsense he just said better not be dangerous or threatening.

Inuyasha just didn’t notice something important. That Sesshomaru had caught on to what he said.

Lady Nefertiti: Please read and review! thanks. Oh btw…what Miroku said means “If we know about a danger in advance, we have an important advantage”.

A proverb or an adage a saying is a short, clever expression that usually contains advice or expresses some obvious truth. Many traditional sayings are still in general use today. Some common ones are: ‘beauty is only skin deep, A good man is hard to find, Great minds think alike and….. you can’t tell a book by its cover.’
