Fairytale

The females of their pack were all gathered in the den, the males having spread out and about on their own business, and as Mio told the younger pups tales of times long by and fairytales to come, Kagome, Hana and Kimiko played with the girl’s hair. It was something that Kimiko and Kagome had in common; a favorite pass time.

Kagome was weaving Aiko’s hair into many braids, the obsidian locks trailing down to the ground, much like her own. Aiko was their third daughter, and as her name -Love Child- hinted, she was an extraordinarily loving and caring female.

She sat before Kagome with a warm smile, one that almost always graced her lovely face, as she brushed through her younger sister’s own dark hair.

It was true that her name wasn’t originally from that form of the meaning (Sesshomaru had picked it, referencing instead that she was born from their vigorous love-making) but it suited her so very well.

She was the embodiment of every good and loving trait of her mother’s. As they listened to Mio’s fairytales, Aiko hummed lightly, sending comforting waves into the room.

Kagome draped her girl’s braids in an enchanting way behind her head as she smiled, thinking of how much Aiko embodied that princess-like nature talked about in fairytales, and she only hoped that their new pup would get some of that kindness as well.

When she finished she brushed her fingertips along Aiko’s temples, tilting her head to press a kiss to her daughter’s cheek.

    “All done, sweet-heart.”

Aiko in turn smiled and quickly finished her little sister’s hair.

    She then turned to Kagome.

“May I do your hair as well, Haha-ue? I’ll make it pretty for Chichi-ue.”

    Kagome smiled and nodded lightly.

    “Of course you can.”

Smile widening, Aiko gently moved her little sister from her lap and went behind her mother, first wrapping Moko-Moko around her mother’s petite form before running the brush through her long, silky hair.

Kimiko looked on with a knowing grin and returned to listening to the foreign tale of the one called ‘Snow White’.
