That hanyou was a thorn in Sesshoumaru's side.  He hated how Inuyasha treated Kagome, she deserved to be treated so much better than that.  The hanyou's constant insulting and degrading of her had give Kagme self doubt and stunted the growth of her priestess powers.  It was the worst place for her to be really and he wanted to help her.  His inner beast had taken a particular liking with this young woman.  He needed to find a way to take her from Inuyasha.

"I'm sorry, that wasn't fair of me."  Kagome said quickly, obviously misinterpreting his silence.

"Are you alright?"  He stopped her by putting a hand on her shoulder.  "The hanyou, he treats you disrespectfully."

"Hehe..."  Kagome laughed, a couple tears falling down her cheeks.  "I'll be fine, no need to worry aboutme.  Inuyasha is how he is, no changing that."  A few more tears fell down.

I can't do this now.  I have to leave...but I don't want to.  She thought as she shook a little.

"Kagome..tell this Sesshoumaru what is wrong."  She was shaking and clearly upset and his beast did not like it: the beast wanted to comfort her.

"It is not easy travelling Inuyasha."

"This Sesshoumaru wishes you to know, this one will always protect you Kagome.  If anything happens, you come to this Sesshoumaru."  He turned to her, straing into her eyes as he spoke.  He saw the tear trails and he wanted to know what all Inuyasha had done to upset and scar her so.
