As she approached him she saw his stoic form looming over a water fountain, crimson tainted eyes watching it as if searching for an answer, she knew she had to be careful so she flared a bit of purity, making her presence known, it wouldn’t do to scare her darling; that would just end badly for her. 

“Sesshoumaru…”  She whispered his name as he turned to look at her, his eyes were troubled, clearly thinking of a myriad of things.  “My love?” 

He turned to face her now, but he was merely studying her face, no words came from him and she found it disturbed her down to her core.  There was something that was clearly wrong. 

“Sesshoumaru, please.”  Her eyes watered up slightly but she pushed it away, she refused to be weak in front of him, refused to let him see how this affected her terrible.  She would be strong, but she could not take his silence.

“Sesshoumaru please speak to me.  Please let me hear your beautiful voice, my angel.”  Kagome pleaded and saw the faintest emotion pass over her golden eyes.

“Why?”  Was the single word he spoke.
