He caught her staring at the ruby colored rose and chuckled.

“I thought it fit the theme dear.”  Manabu said as he tossed it to the side and held his hand out waiting for her to come over to him.  She did so and took his hand.  He began to show her some of the quick steps and how to flare her skirt at the correct times.  A move they worked on this lesson that was particularly difficult for Kagome was a leg extension in which his hand slowly swept the entire length of her leg, up to her creamy thigh, the one that had the slit in her kimono.  A ruby blush kept tinging her cheeks and she felt she just couldn’t do it.  After the seventh time she sighed.  “Kagome, think of it like this, it’s all a show.  What you want is for them to have their mouths watering after they see you two.  You want them to be jealous that you are on his arm instead of theirs, it will help distract from their natural prejudice and allow him to show you off to the Lords and Ladies, to begin to warm you up to them, so when the two of you announce you are intended there won’t be much of a struggle.”  Manabu said kindly to her as they sat down for a moment.

“That makes sense, thank you Manabu.”  Kagome said with a smile.

“Please child, call me Mana.”  A warm smile lit the priests countenance.
