“W-What?  What’s going on?”  Kagome asked, she was concerned now, if he spoke to her like this she was sure that it was something important. 

“Kagome, now that you are here at my palace there are certain things that you are going to have to do.   There are demonesses in my court that would slaughter you without a second thought.  Now due to their loyalty to this Sesshoumaru, they will do no such thing, most likely.  However for the moment until you are established here for who you are, we are going to have to keep our relationship a secret.”  Sesshoumaru said as he looked at her.  “This one only wants to protect you Kagome.”
