The wedding was a wonderful affair, the traditional Shinto wedding ceremony followed by a Western style reception. They already had a reception for youkai and those in the know.

The bride smiled and laughed as she cheerily followed the directions of the photographers and camera-men recording the affair. Carefully the bride and groom cut the wedding cake and fed each other small manageable pieces, holding the pose for the cameras. Though they did slip and look at each other very longingly before being brought to the present by a discreet cough from the photographers who had seen it all before. The bride blushed prettily though the groom was unshaken, one very cool customer who definitely was more interested in some private time with his new wife.

Eri sighed happily and joined the crowd of well-wishers thronging around the couple. When she was close enough she grabbed Kagome’s hands and squeezed them tightly, pulling her forward to brush cheeks. She did not even think of attempting something similar on Kagome’s new husband. She simply smiled slightly and nodded at him.

“Best wishes Kagome.” Then her expression turned whimsical. “I see why you were so fixated on your husband. He’s gorgeous and a good catch.” Sharp eyes noted the compliment had no effect on him. How curious.

“I am very lucky,” Kagome said softly.

“I am the fortunate one,” her husband countered in low rich tones.

Eri could not help the small shiver of reaction. Then she shook her head firmly. “Well, all I can say is good luck. And keep me on the godmother candidate list,” she added cheekily.

Kagome’s jaw dropped. “Wha?”

“The way you two are looking at each other, you’re going to be pregnant within the year.”

Kagome blushed and Sesshoumaru smiled fractionally, light brown eyes twinkling with good humour as he nuzzled Kagome’s neck.

“You are not completely inaccurate Yamamoto-san.”

“Call me Eri,” Eri said firmly.

He stared at her for a moment before nodding. “Eri. And you will be on the list. You helped Kagome a great deal when I was away. And for that I am most grateful.”

Eri blushed. “She is my friend.”

“And you are a true one to her.”
