Kagome deftly moved across the reception room towards her mate who was talking with a couple she did not recognize. Along the way she stopped to greet and return greetings. There were a few faces she recognized but many more that she didn’t. But they knew of her. It was odd, being so recognized and feted in her birth time. And in such a positive sense too! In the past everyone had called her the Shikon miko and compared her to Kikyo. For a long time Kagome had felt lesser and unworthy. Until Sesshoumaru.

He made her feel special, unique and he indulged her so much… Kagome wanted to make a good impression on his associates and the courts. She straightened the skirts of her strapless off-shoulder Western style gown. It was made of heavy cream silk and embroidered with the stylized white sakuras on red on the sleeves and just under her breasts.
