InuYasha froze. Usually he would take insult with anyone casting aspirations on his leadership but Sesshoumaru had just called Kagome a bitch. From his blank expression his stupid brother clearly didn’t understand what he had just done.

“You are the hanyou’s bitch, are you not?”

Damnit. The fucker had to go put his foot in his mouth! Kagome was gonna blow!

The hanyou could not control the whimper that escaped him. Immediately he ducked and swerved to get out of the little miko’s line of sight. He knew better than to hang around where he could draw her attention and become a hapless target.

“What…Did…You…Just…Call…Me?” Kagome’s voice was frigid. Each and every word was spoken precisely and clearly.

InuYasha bit his tongue and dropped his chin to stifle the whine that almost escaped and the urge the tilt his head and bare his neck in submission. He did not want Kagome to look anywhere in his direction. Not when she had That Look on her face.

Sango, Miroku, and Shippo retreated smartly. Shippo was drawing Rin along and Ah-Uh was following Kirara leaving the space around Sesshoumaru empty except for that stupid imp. He was babbling nonsense as usual, something about how foolish weak humans should know their place which was in the ground below demons, especially his great and powerful lord Sesshoumaru-sama.

InuYasha would have snorted if he was willing to risk it. That stupid imp would soon learn His place in the scheme of things. Face down in the dirt, under Kagome’s shoe.

Two seconds later he was proven right when she stepped on top of Jaken who happened to be in the way. She did not stop to apologize or even see if the imp was seriously hurt. She simply charged on until she stood right in front of his bastard of a brother.

InuYasha cringed. He could see the halo of small pink flames surrounding his friend. She was just one step from exploding. Last time she blew she purified his youki leaving him as a human for five whole days!

Even as he bit his lip to stifle the instinctive urge to whimper and submit, a small part of him relished the thought of seeing Kagome explode on the ice prick.
