Riku Ryuu's Prompt - Trouble

The daiyoukai shifted against the base of a tree and redirected his thoughts back to the present and a rather tricky situation that needed to be resolved.

Without her old infatuation deluding her into making excuses for the hanyou’s actions, his mate had been very circumspect in her conclusions that coincided with his own: InuYasha was starting to become more trouble than he was worth. Yes he was a strong fighter, and the bearer of Tetsaiga, but it did not matter when he was undermining the other fighters on his own side.

In the end they had decided to ‘help’ InuYasha expend his excess energy (and hopefully some of his anger) in battle. Kaede gave the group a list of villages being preyed on by youkai marauders, and desperately needing their skills. Sango, Miroku, and InuYasha accepted the information and went off on the extended exterminating mission. Kagome then asked Kaede to look after Rin and Shippo when she went back to the future, to complete her academic examinations and pick up more supplies.

Sesshoumaru had been left at loose-ends. He could have gone on solo-patrols but he was reluctant to leave the vicinity of the Bone-Eaters well. Kagome was due back in the next few days and he hoped she would not be late. Intellectually the daiyoukai knew she was in her own time where there were few (if any) youkai but he could not ignore his secret concern that his mate might be in trouble; it did seem to always find her, like water in a lake.
