Riku Ryuu's Prompt - Key

~ooO Key Ooo~

By the time they rejoined their group the daiyoukai had an openly pleased and proud look, of his mate, her intelligence and future knowledge.

“Well?” InuYasha demanded before the couple had even landed on the grass.

“We have a way to track down Naraku,” Kagome said simply. “And Bokusenou’s advice is simple: Move fast before Naraku finds out and figures out a way to counter it, not to give him time to regroup and plot.”

InuYasha made a scoffing sound though he looked eager. So did Sango and Miroku. One of the biggest issues was tracking down the hanyou because he specialized in working through puppets, intermediaries, fleeing if he was ever endangered.

“So what’s the plan?”

“First, we must gather all potential allies to meet at The Western Stronghold. The key to victory lies in a combined attack, to not allow Naraku any avenue of escape.” Sesshoumaru announced.

InuYasha reflexively fought the proposal. “Why there? Why not Edo?”

Kagome made an annoyed sound. “It is better protected and shielded against spies and enemies. And it is closer to Naraku’s lair,” she added sharply.

“You know where he hides?” Sango’s brown eyes were fierce and bloodthirsty.

Kagome inclined her head “We do,” she said, “But we will not confirm it since it might change.”

Sesshoumaru made a disagreeing noise. “The coward is comfortable in his lair weaving his webs. He will not flee since he does not know that we know.”

No one could disagree with that argument.

“So what next?” Miroku asked in a deliberately casual voice that did not fool anyone.

“Let’s discuss that once we’ve gathered all our allies. Everything else hinges on that,” Kagome said firmly. “For now, let’s set up camp, eat and rest. We will be travelling a great deal in the next few weeks.”
