InuYasha huffed angrily and ignored the knowing smirks on the faces around him. “Are we just gonna sit around and wait for Naraku to show up?” he said aggressively to Sesshoumaru.

The daiyoukai blinked mildly. “That would not be productive,” he said calmly. “Kagome will accompany this one to see Bokusenou.”

That stopped the hanyou in his track. “Bokusenou? You mean the old tree?”

Sesshoumaru gave his half-brother a look. “Bokusenou is a mori-youkai, the oldest living youkai in existence. He was old when our sire was born. And he was elder and advisor to the Inu no Taisho. He has seen a great deal and it is almost impossible to hide from him. If anyone would have an idea where Naraku is, he would.”

InuYasha exploded. “I’m not gonna go off and talk to some senile youkai!”

“Sesshoumaru-sama has a valid idea,” Miroku pointed out calmly. “We could use any source of information and advice.”

“And you were not invited hanyou,” Sesshoumaru said acidly. “It will be faster if this Sesshoumaru travels with only his mate to meet Bokusenou.”

“No way!” InuYasha exploded.

But eventually he was forced to concede. Kagome, Miroku and Sango sided with Sesshoumaru and the daiyoukai had flatly stated he would be travelling too fast for anyone to match their pace.

The hanyou sullenly watched as the daiyoukai lifted his once-best friend and shard detector and fly off. The bastard made everything look so easy.
