Prompt 1: "All at Once" – The Fray
“Sesshoumaru?”
“Hm?”
Clear grey eyes turned upwards to lock with rich amber. “How did I end up so lucky?”
Sesshoumaru purred, nuzzling his nose into the hollow of her clavicle, arms wrapped around her as she leaned against his chest. The pair rested in the shade of a towering oak situated in New York City’s Central Park, enjoying the lazy Sunday afternoon. The man pressed a kiss to her pulse, and she sighed at the physical show of affection from the intensely private man.
“I’ve already told you many times, Kagome.”
“Tell me again, please?”
“It was all at once.”
Prompt 2: "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" – Roberta Flack
“I was running late for a meeting that morning, shoving people out of my way in my haste. The meeting with that CEO would result in the doubling of my company’s assets and holdings. I was tired and cranky; the night before I had to deal with damage control when one of the remaining taiyoukai decided he did not want to live like a ningen anymore. I squeezed my way into the elevator lobby only to freeze when I caught a scent—yours.”
Kagome blushed under his fond gaze.
“That was the first time I had ever seen your face.”

“And?”
“Something instinctive awoke inside me. I immediately recognized you as my soul mate—just the way you were: ningen, miko. You were mine.” Sesshoumaru punctuated the last statement by wrapping his arms tighter around her and burying his nose in her hair. “Mine to love, mine to protect for all eternity. This Sesshoumaru’s personal property.” He emphasized this by running his tongue discretely along the length of her neck.
Kagome giggled, batting his face away. “Ew, Sesshoumaru!”
“Unfortunately for you, I had a schedule to keep, so I forced myself to leave. I vowed I would find you again.”
Prompt 4: "Throw Me a Rope" – KT Tunstall
“It wasn’t hard to find you, not when you own the building and pay the security personnel. Higurashi Kagome, investment banker who worked on the twenty-second floor, graduate of Tokyo University, grew up on a shrine, lived with her mother, younger brother, and maternal grandfather. I knew all sorts of information on you.”
“Stalker,” Kagome griped with a smile.
Sesshoumaru grinned a shark’s grin. “With you, your personal poltergeist. But, you never threw me a rope, and left me hanging for weeks, you cruel woman.”
Kagome scoffed incredulously. “How was I to know that Nishimura Sesshoumaru even knew I existed?”
Prompt 5: "Sometimes When We Touch" – Dan Hill
“Hn,” Sesshoumaru sniffed, “You should have. Women all over the country would have killed for a second glance from me.”
He huffed when Kagome drove an elbow into his ribs. “Get over yourself,” she admonished.
“I could never understand how you were so naïve,” Sesshoumaru continued. “Anytime I saw you in the elevator lobby, I would try to get next to you. Sometimes, when we got jostled, we would touch.” He gazed down his nose at her. “Don’t tell me you didn’t notice.”
“Naïve?” she gaped. “You didn’t even know now to woo a girl, let alone talk to one!”
Prompt 6: "Truly, Madly, Deeply" – Savage Garden
“I fought with myself for a while after first spotting you. I told myself I had no time for a spouse; my company came first. But I had lost the war before it had even begun. Instinct dictated that you were the only one for me, and a swift capitulation of my rational barriers followed. I fell, truly, madly, deeply in love with you before you spoke one word to me.”
Kagome chuckled, “You realize you sound like some obsessed creeper, right?”
Sesshoumaru rested his chin on her shoulder. “It obviously didn’t bother you, because you married said obsessed creeper.”
Prompt 7: "Why Don’t You Kiss Her?" – Jesse McCartney
“And then one day I spotted you with another man.” Sessoumaru growled, even after five years of marriage to his soul mate he still detested the pathetic ningen male. “I saw you with him during my lunch hour, coming out of a small café. He was holding the door open for you, and you were both smiling and laughing. I was angry, furious that another male had dared to set his sights upon you. I remember thinking, Why haven’t I talked to her yet? Better still, why don’t I kiss her to lay my claim? So I did just that.”

Kagome scowled. “And I slapped you for it, you audacious prick. Really, kissing me like that in front of poor Hojo-kun!”
“You liked it,” Sesshoumaru refuted. “It took you a little while to regain your senses before you slapped me. Which, I still believe, was uncalled for.”
“Oh, it was definitely called for, Mister,” she said, poking him in the arm.
“After the work day was over, I lay in bed and thought about you and the kiss that we shared. In the still of the night, I imagined that I held you in my arms as I fell asleep.”

“I began pursuing you in earnest. Flowers, dinners, chocolates, I followed each and every strange and useless custom you ningen follow during courtship.”
“You were so bad at it at first,” Kagome said with a wry chuckle. “I took pity on you and made it easier for you.”
Sesshoumaru snorted. “I was nothing less than perfect. But, I still remember our first official date. I told you to dress well, that we’d be going to a world-renowned restaurant. You were absolutely stunning in that dress—do you still have it in your closet somewhere? Regardless, it took my breath away.”
Prompt 10: "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" – Bryan Adams
“Two years later, I asked you to marry me, and now we have been married for five wonderful years.” He turned to stare into her eyes and said softly, “Everything I have done, everything that I will do, is all for you. Never doubt that I wouldn’t do anything that you ask of me, Kagome.”
“Oh, Sesshoumaru,” Kagome whispered, “I would do anything for you too. I love you, Sesshoumaru.”
“And I you, Kagome.” He shared with her a sweet, gentle kiss. A devilish grin stole over his face. “So, how soon can we make another attempt at children?”
“Sesshoumaru!”
