“Mrs. Higurashi!” A girl’s excited voice made Kagome pause.

Although innocent, giving her name a married title stung. After all, just because she was a perfect example of an epic dating fail didn’t mean she was a bitter recluse before she even turned thirty. She had plenty of time to break hearts and have a proper romance.

Her mental pep-talk complete, Kagome pasted on a dazzlingly white smile. “Please, call me Kagome.”

The girl let out a fan-girl squee that would have done any proper twilighter or trekkie proud. “I just KNEW it was you!! Can I have your autograph??”
