Chapter 99: Delay

“You blame your tardiness on a mere tree?” Sesshoumaru stated dryly.

Chiharu winced. Her excuse, however true it was, sounded ridiculous when said aloud. She was embarrassed that he’d addressed it.

“Please forgive–”

“Your wound is offensive,” he interrupted.

The phoenix blinked in confusion. “E-eh?”

“This Sesshoumaru can smell your blood,” the daiyoukai said with a scowl. “Heal yourself or get out of my sight. Your foolishness wastes my time.”

At his command, Chiharu sniffled and began to cry.

Several of her tears landed on her limp arm, and the injury disappeared within seconds.
