Chapter 98: Excuse

Sesshoumaru barely kept himself from lopping off the healer’s head.

By the time she – Chiharu – had appeared in the room, his eyes were as red as the feathers strewn throughout her hair. Luckily, the phoenix youkai had already known her grave error, for she immediately dropped to the floor before him, resembling Jaken whenever he groveled for being an idiot.

“Explain,” Sesshoumaru said, taking satisfaction in the way the female fidgeted nervously.

“M-my apologies, Sesshoumaru-sama! I was out gathering herbs when I heard the summons.”

“And?”

“O-one of my wings snagged on a branch…”
