Chapter 420: Umbrella

He never really understood humans and their sense of modesty.

Without hide and fur to cover them, it was as though it was impossible for them to feel comfortable in their own skin. Even hiding their forms under layers of clothing did nothing for their self-esteem or self-confidence. They feared the judgment of others too much.

Hopeless mortals.

He had learned long ago to ignore what others thought of him.

However…

He had not considered the possibility of his opinion being important to someone else. His trials with Rin briefly explored that idea.

And Kagome’s nervous rambling brought it back.
