Chapter 410: Of All Things

“You’re worrying me.”

Kagome stepped toward him on unstable legs. Her lips were being thoroughly abused by her teeth as her arms reached for the front of his armor. He had chosen to keep it on after the purging of her soul.

“Please say something,” she tried again, searching his eyes for any sign of emotion. He usually couldn’t hide things from her, but this time… It was as if she was looking at a stranger. The empty expression on his face had her crying inside for him.

He cupped her cheek, voice rough with sorrow, “I let you die.”
