Chapter 406: Me, Myself & I

Her body ached as her unused muscles seized with tension. Kagome raised herself up on her side, elbow on the floor, and reached for one of the wooden panels in the shoji screen. Her fingers brushed against the door until the ends of her nails found a niche in the side, and she finally managed to give it a good push. The thin screen rattled slightly in its frame as it moved but otherwise opened smoothly.

The hall was empty.

She at least expected Kazuya to be waiting outside. He usually escorted her to the dining room.

Where was everybody?
