Chapter 398: Memento Mori

The Lord of the West knew instantly when his packmate was gone.

He watched with dull eyes as Naraku pulled his arms from the tub containing the miko’s body–her corpse–his skin covered in purification burns from the blessed water. Somewhere on Sesshoumaru’s left, he could sense Kazuya’s sadness and hear the nearly inaudible whine that escaped from his lips. His mother’s reaction was more difficult to discern.

Naraku didn’t appear too pleased with himself either as he moved to break the line of the salt circle with his foot.

Resigned, Sesshoumaru destroyed the inscriptions on the floor with his Dokkasou.
