Chapter 392: A Sentinel’s Misgivings
“Alright, Kagome-chan, just ease on down slowly. I’ll take care of you,” Naraku cooed.
The miko gripped the curved edge of the wooden tub and scowled at him. She was waist-deep in the cooled water, his palms supporting her other hand and elbow. Eyes darting to Kazuya, she pleaded, “Please keep him from touching me inappropriately.”
The guard gave her a tight smile. Her heart throbbed slightly as she knew her impending death pained him. “He’s already past that point, little one,” he murmured, chest rumbling with his unease. “But all will be well.”
She sighed in relief. “Thank you.”
