Chapter 388: Crooked Teeth

“Alas,” Naraku sighed out in dramatic tones, “I’m no longer that person, and there isn’t a damsel to be had. I’ve not the patience to exude the effort.”

With a flourish, he pulled away from the miko’s side and smoothed over the front of his tattered haori. He felt content to act as though he hadn’t just riled the Western Lord’s pack with his implied threats.

“You know…” Kagome turned around with a scowl. She bared her teeth afterward. “Your humor sucks.”

“Really? You’d be the first to say so.”

“Regardless, what are you planning? I don’t like surprises, Naraku.”
