Chapter 355: Lobbying Appeal

“Why are you asking me this now, anyway? How come you didn’t do so when you returned from your trip?”

“Things were… complicated.”

Kagome’s brows furrowed. “They’re complicated now.”

“I had forgotten,” he admitted. “Your closeness with my cousin reminded me.”

“So, you’re… jealous. Is that it?”

“No,” he stated simply, too quickly in her opinion. “That is not the topic of this conversation.”

“Then what is?”

“Your health is important. It is the Alpha’s priority to ensure his pack is well.” When Kagome opened her mouth, Sesshoumaru spoke first. “I did not perform my duty for two moon cycles.”

A/N: Thanks for all of the notes, everyone! It’s been a while since I started this story (and writing in general), but it’s always a nice pick-me-up to read your feedback during my break between updates. So, I hope this latest batch makes you a bit more cheerful like I’ve been lately! S/K’s development is getting there… I just hope you don’t mind that they’re taking the slow and steady route first. ;)

Oh, and Ch. 465 was finished recently… in case you were wondering about my progress so far. Writing’s been fun, and, uh, interesting things are ahead.
