Chapter 339: Confessions in the Dark

“I missed you while you were gone,” came Kagome’s whisper, muffled slightly by his hair. “I worried… often.”

Sesshoumaru didn’t acknowledge her words with his own, though he idly traced a random pattern over the backs of her hands. He sighed when he felt her press even closer almost desperately. It seemed as though she was the one seeking comfort this time. Perhaps it was an apology of some sort for the disagreement they’d had earlier. Regardless, he knew it was pointless to push her away. Her touch was filled with both warmth and familiarity.

Her scent smelled of home.
