The woman gave an unladylike snort. “Figures… I usually cause the problems. It makes sense that I’d start the list of things that annoy Sesshoumaru-sama and end it.”

“Hm,” Kazuya hummed noncommittally. “My dear cousin took insult when you implied the disloyalty of inu-youkai. We–or, at least the one half of myself–mate for life. Touga-sama is the only exception to this; while he loved Milady in his own way, his fondness for her could not compare to his affection for the human princess.”

“Izayoi-san was his Chosen,” Kagome surmised. “His soulmate…?”

“Yes.”

“But… Satomi-sama loved him?”
