Kagome flopped onto her back, black tresses fanned out beneath her head. She lifted her arm, hand reaching toward the night sky. “You’re lucky you get to see this every day.” A wistful sigh escaped her as she turned her head. “Ne, Kazuya-san?”
The hybrid sent her a curious look as he stood beside her on the roof. “You cannot see the stars back at your village?”
“Not exactly,” she said. “You guys just have the front row seat.”
“Ah,” he hummed in understanding. “You’re welcome to stay forev–” He stopped himself. “For as long as you’d like.”
