Chapter 296: Lean On Me

“Your sorrow is wasted.” Sesshoumaru took a hold of Kagome’s chin when she looked at him with a devastated expression. Inching closer, as much as he dared, he told her, “This one said that Inuyasha would be saved, correct?”

The woman’s eyes widened. “Y-you did…”

“Then do not despair, miko,” he murmured, pressing his forehead against hers. “Allow your tears to fall only when you see him again. Trust in your Alpha.”

Kagome said nothing as she wrapped her arms around his neck, weeping gratefully on his shoulder. And, knowing she was no longer sad, Sesshoumaru allowed it.
